Student Welfare

The latest Government guidance on “COVID-19 Response – Spring 2021,” published on 21-February-2021, has confirmed that some undergraduate and postgraduate courses requiring specialist facilities or equipment will resume face-to-face classes on 8-March-2021. OBC students do not need to participate in practical teaching and do not require special facilities or equipment as part of their studies. Therefore, we will continue to teach online as per the government Roadmap and the letter from the Managing Director. We will then follow the government guidance for our students to return to face-to-face teaching. Please refer: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-response-spring-2021/covid-19-response-spring-2021#roadmap

Keeping our staff and students safe

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, our priority has been the safety and wellbeing of all staff and students at Oxford Business College.

The UK government has announced a route out of lockdown, but while restrictions remain in place, you can find information here on how we’re protecting our academic community.

Latest on the national lockdown

The latest government guidance on its ‘roadmap out of lockdown’ indicates that from March 8, 2021, restrictions will start to be eased. In the first step of this roadmap, schools and colleges will be re-opened.

From March 8, Higher Education students enrolled on a practical course in English universities will also be able to return to the classroom.

Full information on the government’s roadmap can be found at: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-response-spring-2021/covid-19-response-spring-2021-summary

 Covid-19 Testing for Returning Students

Oxford Business College will let students know when they are able to return to the classroom. Before students return, we’ll ask them to take a Covid-19 test. We will also encourage routine testing in line with government advice.

Students will also be advised to download the NHS Track and Trace App.

Safety Measures on Campus

Oxford Business College will continue to adopt key rules designed to ensure our campuses remain safe places to work and study during the pandemic.

These include:

  • Students and staff must wear a mask or face covering, unless exempt under government guidelines.
  • All individuals attending our campuses should maintain a 2 metre distance from each other at all times.
  • Restrictions should be followed on the maximum number of people in certain rooms / offices at any one time.

If students or staff have symptoms of Covid-19

If any member of our academic community develops symptoms associated with Covid-19, including:

  • Loss of taste or smell
  • A new, continuous cough
  • A high temperatureThey should immediately self-isolate, and arrange a Covid-19 Test (see: https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test). They should not attend the College if they have any of these symptoms.
