The Business Management degree programme has been designed to be largely practice-based in order to prepare you to work as a creative business professional. So, as well as the fundamentals of business enterprise – marketing, finance, law, project management etc – you will also investigate, for example, the intricacies of managing operation processes and projects and their impact on shaping the competitive strategy of an organisation.
In other modules you may typically explore a range of case studies in order to identify and evaluate to what extent the success of individual entrepreneurs could be based on their traits, styles and behaviours. Additionally, you will be given the opportunity to gain and develop management skills from detailed analysis of organisations, the 21st-century business environment and your own acumen.
In the latter stages of the course, you will undertake a project allowing you to demonstrate your accumulated knowledge and to apply academic and practical insight at a strategic level, a skill highly valued by business and management consultancy organisations and employers. The end objective will be to expose students to the full range of challenges for contemporary international business and prepare them for success in the workplace, and in the creative industries in particular.
